Sanai’s The Enclosed Garden of the Truth (Ḥadīqat al-Ḥaqīqa wa Sharīʿat al-Ṭarīqa) is a long didactic Sufi masnavi in Persian (composed c. 1130–1131) that uses praise, argument, and parable to map the whole religious life from outward law to inward realization, insisting that intellect and doctrine are inadequate unless they ripen into lived knowledge, humility, and divine love. Across its ten-part architecture it attacks ego, hypocrisy, and courtly/worldly ambition, contrasts surface piety with sincerity, and repeatedly redirects the reader from attachment to things and reputation toward the purification of the heart and the single reality of God—presenting the path as an interior transformation rather than a set of slogans or social roles.
